Shenyang Ligong University (SYLU), founded in 1948, is a comprehensive university with a strong foundation in engineering and coordinated development of science, engineering, liberal arts, economics, management, and art disciplines. It is a pilot university of the National Plan for Education and Training of Excellent Engineers, an institution authorized to recruit international students under the Chinese Government Scholarship program, and a university approved by the Ministry of Education for recruiting high-level sports teams.
